Vibration Analysis Category II training advances participants from collecting and recognizing vibration data to selecting appropriate measurement techniques, configuring instruments, analyzing vibration signatures, and diagnosing common faults in rotating machinery.
Through instructor-led theory, industrial case studies, demonstrations, and practical exercises, participants learn to evaluate fans, pumps, compressors, motors, and gearboxes; maintain measurement trends; assess vibration severity; recommend corrective actions; and communicate findings through professional diagnostic reports.
Participants should have completed Category I vibration-analysis training or possess equivalent knowledge and practical experience collecting machinery vibration data. Familiarity with vibration terminology, instrumentation, measurement routes, spectra, time waveforms, and basic fault recognition is strongly recommended.
Course attendance does not automatically establish eligibility for Category II certification. CMVA currently requires the applicable formal training and a minimum of 18 months of cumulative machinery vibration condition-monitoring experience. Candidates should review the current CMVA certification requirements before registering for an examination.
